2007 Championship Day!

Monday, August 6th, 2007

WNDRFL is your 2007 WKL Champions!  Tha Tang take the Festival of Losers crown for the first time.

It was a great time had by all last Saturday afternoon.  Between the games, pavilions, karaoke, BBQ’s and beers, a spectacular time was had by everyone in attendance, at least I hope!  Spacetractor may not have played that day, but their karaoke pavilion was the rockinest place on the field.  Thanks to Ball Deep and Space Tractor for one more excellent taunt, and of course to Dance team, who pulled out all the stop one more time for our entertainment.  Man, I am really tired after all that and the parties that evening.

Oh yeah, we also got to see some excellent kickball games!  The day started with the #6 AveRats knocking off the #3 Jackass.  The #5 WNDRFL rewrote their final day loss and beat the #4 Pirates.  Then the heavy weights got into it with the AveRats losing to #2 Darkside.  WNDRFL then avenged another regular season loss by knocking off the #1 seed, The Happy Birthdays!  Tha Tang defeated a spirited Varsity team in the Festival of Losers.  Then WNDRFL once again avenged a regular season loss by knocking off the Darkside for the title.

I truly hoped that everyone had an excellent season.  I will be back next year as Commish, but i need some help and luckily Mindy Huffman is stepping up into the role of Co-Commissioner.  She has a lot of great ideas and has vowed to bring the wacky back into the WKL!

p.s.  If you have any events or parties you want to invite your fellow kickballers to over the long, cold winter months, please feel free to email me and I will get it our via the league’s email list.  I look forward to seeing at least a few of you before next season!
